Happy Birthday, Andy!!

On May 19 Andy turned 27!! We had a party for him on the 20, but Andy's parents weren't able to make that day, so Andy's mom came over on the 19th and we celebrated with his parents on his actual birthday, after the guys were off work. Andy's mom brought a pizza for dinner and a birthday pie for afterwards! It was super nice, and the kids and I enjoyed spending time with Grandma P. while Grandpa and Daddy were at work. I hope that Andy enjoyed his birthday celebrations to the fullest! He is the greatest husband anyone could ask for and he deserves to have the best birthday ever!

Home is where you hang your memories...

Well it  has been a while since I've posted last and I figured that today would be a good day to do it. While I'm keeping my mind busy waiting to hear how mom's surgery went, I will post a few updates!! First of all, on May 14 we celebrated our 1 year anniversary of being in our new home. I know it seems kind of dorky to celebrate, but still, we are thrilled to be here and are so thankful for all the ways we've been blessed in this year. We've been able to improve a little along the way also. We've had some rock delivered and made a nice, mud-free walk for ourselves from the house to the cars, we've done some major painting (and some more on the way!!), and the biggest achievement so far, is our fence. We were able to fence off the entire property and put up a gate, that way the dogs have free run whenever they want!! It has been SOOOOOOO nice!! I've made a picture collage of our first year and I hope you enjoy! We have some of our best memories in our old house. It was the house I moved into after Andy and I got married, we brought home two beautiful babies to that home, and we enjoyed life with our perfect little family there for a little over 4 years. But we are happy to move on and build new memories in this home. And, I must say, we've done a pretty good job of that already!! We are off to a good start here!! If this is what the first year is like, I can't wait to see year 50!! Please enjoy the picutres of year one!!

Happy Easter!!

Hello Everyone!
It is that time of year to post about Easter!! Hopefully everyone had as good of an Easter as we did!! Our day couldn't have been any better! It was absolutely a gorgeous spring day!! Warm, sunny and just beautiful!! Andy and I spent all day on Saturday preparing for the big day! Andy smoked a turkey in our smoker while I spent the day in the kitchen cooking. Sunday morning we all went to church and then came home, let the kids discover their Easter baskets and prepared dinner. The kids got binoculars (they love the outdoors!!) and Garrett got 101 Dalmatians and Emily got Tangled! We have already watched them both...a few times!! For dinner we made ham, turkey, potatoes, and marmalade glazed carrots. We also had, fruit and veggie trays, deviled eggs, and a candy bar salad. For dessert (the best part), I made a blueberry bread pudding that was DELISH! We also had a variety of cupcakes and....CANDY! After dinner we headed out for an Easter Egg hunt in our backyard and enjoyed some of this beautiful spring weather!! We enjoyed the day as a family and we loved every minute of it!! It is always so nice to get together with everyone!! And the kids were loving being spoiled by both sets of grandparents and their uncle, aunt and cousins!! We had a fabulous Easter and are truly blessed to have such a great family! ~Happy Spring!!~

Spring has been busy at the Plaggemeyer  house!! We've been busy buying everything we need to fence off our land. After we bought all that we ordered a few loads of rock for our yard. We now have a mud-free walk from our back door to our car and shed!! And it is SUPER nice!! And the best thing we've done, so far, is put up a swing set for the kiddos. For Christmas Santa and Grandpa and Grandma Plaggemeyer went in together and bought the kids a swing set. So when the nicer weather rolled around we bought one and then Andy's dad stayed for his three days off and helped Andy put the thing up!! We love love LOVE it!! (Just don't mention the assembly or instructions to either Andy or his dad!!! Hahaha!!). The kids have enjoyed it so much already and it's barely been up for 24 hours!! I am certain they've already tried everything out on it, and so far Garrett's favorite thing is the Captain's Ship glider!! He loves to go FAST!! And Emily is in love with going down the slide!! Well, that about sums up our spring so far. We will be doing our fence soon and getting ready for Easter!! Happy Birthday, Dad!!

~*~ At the heart of a family's happiness is a dad's love ~*~

We celebrated Dad's birthday, a day early, on Sunday, March 20 at our house!! We all had a lot of fun, as always!! Brian and Shanda and the kids came over, along with Mom and Dad and, of course, the 4 of us! I just love that we can all get together and celebrate these occasions when they come up, especially when the weather is nice enough that the kids can all go out an play! For his birthday, Dad had some birthday apple pies!! And they were delicious. In fact, I'm ready for another party just so I can have some more of the pie! LOL :)! We ate pie, opened presents, drank coffee and had a nice time visiting!! We all hope that Dad had a very happy birthday this year! He is the best dad in the world and we are so lucky to have him for ourselves!! We love him more than he'll ever know. He is always there for us, to lend a hand, lend an ear, give encouragement or advice or sometimes just to keep us company. He is the best example of what a dad should be and he is truly my hero. Thanks for always being such a great dad, Dad!! We love you!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I hope that everyone had a happy St. Patrick's Day this year!!! We celebrated allll day long and the kids loved every minute!! We had corned beef and cabbage for dinner and it was sooooo delicious! I look forward to that meal every year! Although Andy had to go into work Thursday night, we still enjoyed our day and evening!! The kids even had green bath water followed by some awesome green shamrock glow sticks!! They had a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!! The next day we took advantage of our leftovers and made rubens...another meal that I look forward to every year! What's not to love about St. Patrick's Day?!?!  Below are some pictures of our day!! Happy Birthday, Mom!!

Last weekend we all got together to celebrate my mom's birthday! We had so much fun!! We celebrated at our house, along with Brian, Shanda, Cole, Tyler, Cody, Heidi and Dad and Mom! The kids always love each other's company and it's always nice spending time with the adults! Having Mom's birthday party at our house is one of the things I look forward to the most each year. It is always so nice! I love doing her cake, decorating the house and having a nice time with the family. I would say that this year was another success! We hope that mom had a very Happy Birthday!! She is the best mother that anyone could ever ever ask for. She is my mom, my friend, a great roll model and so much more! I love her so much and wish her all the happiness in the world, on her birthday and every other day of the year!!
